(Philippians 4:8) Fill your thoughts with what is true.
Our modern world is run by media that is filled with false propaganda and misleading information, which is today perpetuated by an alliance of government and news (tech) companies, and many false religious (including atheism) teachers.
If Christians are not daily intentionally filling our minds with biblical truth, we can easily be deceived and conformed to the worldview of this world. Filling our thoughts with truth means we esteem, ponder, remember, mediate, and reason about and on biblical truth.
Truth is reality. Reality is how God has created us to live and perceive our world. Filling our thoughts with truth, does not simply mean memorizing Bible passages, but holistically forming our worldview—perception of true reality—according to God’s truth.
A caution: To only think and reason on partial truth, will not sustain us in spiritual maturity. By filling our minds with truth—a biblical worldview—we are able to discern what is true and what is false. We have a mental grid through which we are able to filter information; we are able to assimilate truth and spit out what is false.
Do you perceive our world, and filter the information you hear, through a mature biblical worldview?
Remember, what goes in, comes out.
